What are the different materials I can use for my counter tops?
Granite - Granite is the hardest and most durable of all types of stone and is characterized by an even grainy texture.

Marble - Marble is a crystallized type of limestone formed by heat or pressure. Pure marble is almost completely white; the color comes from iron oxides and other mineral deposits. Patterning consists of fissures, cracks, veining and soft clouding which give the stone the impression of depth and translucence.
Slate- The characteristics of slate would be near solid shades and mottled or veined patterns. Typical colors include blue-gray, green-green, and charcoal black. Mexican, Indian and African slates are more vividly colored and patterned. Slate is hard, durable and waterproof. Slate slabs have a smooth, honed finish.
Travertine- A varietal name for a kind of limestone formed under special conditions. It is classed as chemical sedimentary rock and is deposited as it precipitates in land environments.
